Structured cognitive evaluation including MoCA and/or MMSE, functional assessment, and neuropsychological testing referral when appropriate.

Brain imaging & advanced testing
MRI of the brain, specialized brain-wave testing when selected, coordination of amyloid PET scans — imaging that shows Alzheimer’s-related plaques — and APOE genetic testing for patients considering treatment.

Anti-amyloid therapies are typically delivered through hospital systems and academic medical centers, because they demand substantial infrastructure — specialized brain imaging, genetic counseling, regular MRI safety monitoring, and infusion capacity. We built that infrastructure into our practice: we are the only independent neurology practice in the DC metropolitan area offering in-office infusion of both treatments.
NHPI provides in-office infusion of both Leqembi (lecanemab) and Kisunla (donanemab) — FDA-approved therapies for early Alzheimer’s disease — under the direct supervision of a neurologist, in an infusion setting designed specifically for neurological care, with the evaluation, testing, and monitoring pathway handled by the same team.
